We finished round 2 in 8th place out of 40 teams! Our final vote count is 524 Votes and 130 Voters. A big thank you to everyone who supported us and voted!
Round 3 begins May 17 and runs till June 6th. We would love to show off what we are working on, but we aren’t allowed to post anything that hasn’t appeared in the contest first. We are hard at work writing, drawing, inking, coloring, lettering, and embellishing the Firehound Alpha comic book and we can’t wait to hear your thoughts.

Yesterday we celebrated Free Comic Book Day at Galatic Comics and Games . It was a great day and we had lots of fun. Comics for Victory was raising money and giving away hotdogs and cookies, people were dressed in costumes, Wayne was sketching all day, and I was talking about Firehound Alpha (and comics in general) to anyone who was interested. In the next couple of days I hope to post some of Wayne’s sketches.
Okay, I have to get back to work on Firehound Alpha.

Today brings us some good news. We’ve moved up several places in the ranking to number 9. Thank you all for your support and for voting. We’ve also seen a boost of interest at our facebook page http://www.facebook.com/FirehoundAlpha, we jumped from 83 fans yesterday to 139 today! Thank you to everyone for voting and spreading the word about Firehound Alpaha. We are doing good, but with only a week left to vote, we really need to get the word out and get the votes in.
This is going to be a short update because I’m working on the script and I’m on the road so I don’t have a lot of time at the moment, but more to come!

Important tidbit, voting has been extended to May 5. 15 new projects posted yesterday so now is when everything really heats up. 30 projects will advance to the next round. According to the chart, we are sitting in 13th place, but this appears to be a mistake, I think the votes were updated, but not the ranks because voting wise, we should be in 10th place. We can do better than that! This is a call to arms to vote vote vote!!!.
The reason the voting is being extended to May 5 is because Ian, the moderator, had some medical issues and was unable to post the remaining 15 projects on the 23 when he received them so to give them time to get in votes, he’s extending the deadline. This probably means those projects will be working extra hard to over come us in the vote. We can’t let that happen.
Okay, I’ve got some work to do and some emails to send and some Firehound word to spread.

Currently in the ranking of actual votes we are in 13th place out of 21 teams with 15 more team entries scheduled to post tomorrow. People can vote once a day. In rank of actual number of voters we are in 7th place. We have a lot of hard work ahead of us so please vote and help us spread the word.

Our comic book pitch
Sci-fi super spy Jenica Kaplan is Firehound Alpha, the foremost agent in the world of intergalactic covert ops, often saving planets and colonies that never even realize they are in danger.
How the contest works.
Round 1, we had to submitted a rough cover sketch and a pitch. The three contest judges critique them and gave a yes or no vote. We go two yeses and a half hearted no. You can read the judges comments at http://www.smallpressidol.com/forum/topicview/misc/761.htm
Round 2, we had to submit a logo and character designs with a bio. The three contest judges critique and give a yes or no, but also the public gets to vote. Each team has to market their comic book and get voters. The submissions were due between April 5th and April 22nd. Here’s the catch, as soon as your submission was posted, people could start voting, so the people who sent theirs in earlier started getting votes in earlier.
We worked hard on our submission, but did not get it turned in till April 19th and it posted on April 20th. We are now working to catch up in the voting arena.

Round 3, we have to turn in 4 sequential comic book pages completely colored and finished. Round 3 opens on May 17. We must have our submission ready by May 24.
Round 4. Only 4 projects progress to round 4. They must turn in the completed 12 page Zero issue.
